Hans Kleinberg Minor Eisen noble. 24 years old. Eisenfaust swordsman, heir to a small amount of dracheneisen, and combat instructor at the Geneva school for young women. =SUMMARY= Hans is the third son of a minor noble family with land in western Eisen. He's only about four feet tall, but he weighs over two hundred pounds (not including his equipment), nearly all of which is muscle. He's a bit sensitive about his height, and he carries a very large sword, so it's probably safest to avoid mentioning it. His idea of formal dress is heavy ceremonial armor (which he inherited from his great great grandfather -- in fact, Hans has been the first adult male in several generations who could actually fit into it). =HISTORY= Hans grew up in a country torn apart by the War of the Cross, and consequently he spent his childhood knowing that he was being raised for battle. His father was the decorated leader of a small regiment; his two elder brothrs were both mounted officers. Of course, this meant that none of them were home to train Hans at armed combat. Like his brothers, Hans first learned to fight on his mother's knee. (Hans' mother was firmly of the belief that no woman should marry a man she couldn't beat up, so she was more than capable of directing his early study of arms.) Hans attended academy from ages 15 to 18, studying Eisenfaust. Then he came home to fight on the side of the Objectionists -- but within a year, the fighting had already dwindled and the war was essentially over. This left him a bit confused for the next couple years, as he'd spent his whole life preparing for a war that wasn't there anymore. His father and brothers gradually grew increasingly annoyed at Hans' stalking the older corridors and turrets and dungeons of the castle in search of secret passages and lost family artifacts (of which he found none). Then someone eventually got the clever idea to pull a few strings, getting him a position at Geneva teaching athletics, self-defense and related skills to the young ladies there. He's spent the last two years doing that, passing on his knowledge and experience, and training the girls up to follow his mother's advice. =FAMILY= The Kleinberg is the name given to the lands surrounding a small mountain nestled within the Black Woods. It is also the name of the relatively minor noble house which has been seated there for several centuries. They are well respected in the area, largely due to their history of heroic military service. Although the family's lands are unable to support much farming, they are able too maintain a reasonable export in lumber and iron (from mines deep under the Kleinberg itself). It is said that the family's dracheneisen heirlooms originated in a side shaft of those same mines, although exactly which one is now lost to history. Klaus Kleinberg (57): Husband of Barbara; father of Martin, Dieter and Hans. Skilled strategist and tactician. Decorated multiple times for his leadership in the War of the Cross. Relatively taciturn and soft-spoken. When he does raise his voice, it is generally either a Very Good or a Very Bad sign. Barbara Kleinberg (49): Wife of Klaus; mother of Dieter, Martin and Hans. Practiced fencer and panzerhand user. Married Klaus after besting him in a duel. (He later insisted that he let her win. This is a lie.) When he left to serve in the War, she remained behind to raise their sons and defend the Kleinberg (which she successfully did on more than one occasion). Martin and Dieter Kleinberg (31, twins): Sons of Klaus and Barbara, brothers of Hans. Served as officers under their father. Actually quite boring once you get to know them. =TRAITS= Brawn 4 (16) Wits 1 ( 0) Finesse 3 (16) Resolve 2 ( 8) Panache 2 ( 8) --------------------(48) =SWORDSMAN SCHOOLS= Eisenfaust (20) 1 Beat 1 Bind 1 Disarm 1 Exploit Weakness --------------------(20) =ADVANTAGES= Academy ( 2) Dracheneisen (20) Gauntlet 2 Sword 4 Languages Eisen (lit) ( 1) High Eisen ( 1) Montaigne ( 2) Membership Swordsman's Guild ( 0) Nobility ( 5) Small ( 2) Specialty Balance 1 ( 1) Stealth 1 ( 1) --------------------(35) =MARTIAL SKILLS= Athlete ( 1) 1 Climbing 1 Footwork 1 Sprinting 1 Throwing Firearms ( 1) 1 Attack Heavy Weapon ( 0) 3 Attack ( 2) 1 Parry Panzerhand ( 0) 1 Attack 3 Parry ( 2) Rider ( 1) 1 Ride --------------------( 7) =TOTAL= Traits (48) Swordsman Schools (20) Advantages (35) Civil Skills ( 0) Martial Skills ( 7) Hubris: Hot-Headed (-10) ===================(100)
